X-Yachts Xp 50 – Performance Cruisers

Blog | April 10, 2012

Xp 50 is the third model in the shipyard’s performance series. Four new X-Yachts releases are expected to hit the water before the summer of 2012.

Xp 50

X-Yachts calls the new Xp series for the fourth generation of performance cruisers from the yard. The first generation started with the X-402 in 1984, the second with X-412 in 1990, third with X-43 in 2002, and now Xp 44 in 2011. D new boats are stiffer and faster, not to mention easier to sail.

The X-Yachts Success

The new series of X-Yachts has gained a strong position in the market. The 44-footer has been nominated for Boat of the Year. Seias was supposed to sail the boat outside the Netherlands in September, but high winds made a delay to the test sail to November where the boat will be tested outside of Barcelona. The yard has received many orders, and before the summer of 2012 will be built more than 85 boats in the new series. Four of the boats will be Xp 50.

Over the same reading

The three new models in the Xp-series share the same ideas and skills. Like its smaller sibling the Xp 50 will also be built lighter, but more weight in the keel. Weight reduction is a result of a more advanced production method using vacuum, epoxy and carbon fiber. The decor is light, where parts are made of composite. The Xp 50 boats also comes with new windows and the superstructure can be opened. The deck is clean with flat lids and lines under the deck. The boats have bow ornament covering the boats anchor. The new 50-footer will also accommodate a 2.3 meter dinghy under the cockpit.

More comfort

Xp 50 is a very fast cruiser. The yard has placed more emphasis on comfort and the 15-meter boat has just three cabins, the same as the 38-footer. It provides a boat with a lot of volume. Right at the bow there is room for a small captain’s cabin if the owner only want to be on vacation and leave the sailing to professionals.

The cockpit is large and great for sailing in the sunny waters.
